WhatsApp Business API is priced per conversation, not per message, and the rate is set by the recipient's country. A conversation covers a 24-hour window in which you can exchange as many messages as the thread needs. AdelSocial publishes the Meta country rate and its own margin as separate lines: India is ₹1.04 a marketing conversation, the UAE ₹3.08, the United States ₹1.44, Kenya ₹1.36. Utility and authentication conversations cost less, and a conversation the customer starts is free inside its window.
Three things decide what you pay. The recipient's country sets the Meta rate. The conversation category — marketing, utility, authentication or service — sets which of four rates applies, with marketing the most expensive and service free inside the window. And the 24-hour window means a long back-and-forth costs the same as a single message, which is why WhatsApp beats SMS on anything conversational and loses on a one-way alert.
Rates below are marketing conversations in INR, excluding GST. Meta revises country rates periodically and we pass the change through with notice rather than absorbing it quietly.
