RCS business messaging in India costs an indicative ₹0.18 to ₹0.40 per message, the cheapest RCS market in the world, against ₹0.80 to ₹2.00 in the United States and ₹1.20 to ₹3.00 in the Gulf. Anything that cannot receive RCS falls back to SMS and is billed at the SMS rate as a separate line, never blended into the RCS figure to make the headline look better.
Not every handset and network can receive RCS. Every campaign therefore sends some messages as RCS and the rest as SMS fallback. A provider who quotes you one blended rate is averaging the two and will not tell you the split, which means you cannot tell whether you paid RCS prices for SMS delivery. We bill them as two lines and report the split per campaign.
India is the outlier worth noting: at ₹0.18 to ₹0.40 a message, RCS costs roughly the same as a two-segment Hindi SMS while carrying your logo, a product carousel and read receipts. It is the one market where we recommend RCS over SMS for campaigns rather than treating it as a premium add-on.
